Ingredients

Scale
  • pounds sirloin or ribeye steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce (optional for extra umami)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for a spicy kick)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted, for finishing)
  • Fresh chopped parsley, for garnish

Instructions

1. Prep the Steak: Pat the steak cubes dry with paper towels to ensure a nice sear. Place them in a large bowl.

2. Season: Drizzle the olive oil and soy sauce over the steak bites. Add the garlic powder, smoked paprika, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and red pepper flakes (if using). Toss everything together until the steak is evenly coated.

3. Preheat the Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and let it preheat for 3 minutes. This helps achieve a crispy exterior.

4. Cook the Steak Bites: Arrange the steak bites in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding to ensure even cooking. Air fry for 4-5 minutes, then shake the basket or flip the pieces. Cook for an additional 3-5 minutes, depending on your preferred doneness:

  • Medium-rare: 7-8 minutes total
  • Medium: 8-9 minutes
  • Well-done: 10 minutes

5. Add Butter for Richness: Once cooked, transfer the steak bites to a bowl. Drizzle with melted butter and toss to coat for an extra layer of flavor.

6. Serve: Garnish with fresh chopped parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Best Steak Cuts: Sirloin, ribeye, or tenderloin work best for juicy, tender bites.
  • Add Veggies: Toss in bell peppers, onions, or mushrooms halfway through cooking for a complete meal.
  • Marinade Option: For deeper flavor, marinate the steak in the seasoning mix for 30 minutes before cooking.
  • Storage: Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer for 2-3 minutes to retain crispness.
